Kindergarten Students in the Media Center!
la_lit_genres_s_4_4
We know that Kindergarten children LOVE books! This year our Kindergarten students will explore stories and books, reading, and the Library Media Center. Their reading and listening skills will grow!

Students will have opportunities to enjoy books, examine and choose books to take home. They will learn about the library as they visit each week. Choosing their own books, they will use a shelf marker to help them keep the book collection in order as they choose books. They will be expected to choose books in a timely manner, and then enjoy the books while others finish their selection and checkout.

Your child will be able to choose from Everybody (Picture), Non-Fiction, and “I Can Read” (controlled vocabulary) books. Books can be enjoyed for one week at home, then should be exchanged on Library Day for another. If your child forgets his book(s), he can bring it the next day and choose new one(s).       If your child's library book is lost or damaged, he/she will not be able to check out another in its place until the replacement cost is paid. Payments will be refunded if books are later found and returned in good condition.

BOOK CHECK OUT
la_fluency_s_2_4
Kindergarteners are allowed to check out two books each week. Look for the Parent Letter explaining our library procedures at the bottom of this page. It will be sent home on the first check-out day!
