WE LOVE TO READ!! The McAuliffe Media Center
is a fun place to explore books. Beginning readers will be able to
choose from Everybody (Picture), Non-Fiction, and “I Can Read”
(controlled vocabulary) books. Please read at home with your readers and
let them read to you!
BOOK CHECKOUT... Books can be enjoyed for
one week at home, then should be exchanged in Media Class for another.
If your 2nd - 4th grade child forgets his book(s), he can bring it the
next day and pick up the ones he saved the day before. Kindergarten
students and first graders do not save books, but can choose a book on
the spot when they return the forgotten one.
A VIRTUAL LIBRARY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS! Parents,
the Media Center is online! Why not take a look? For access, click on
the Online Catalog and Virtual Library tab to the right. The resource
links that you will find here are great for homework help: providing a
dictionary with speech, a student encyclopedia, safe and appropriate
internet search engines, reading lists and the Tumble Books electronic
book site. Ask your students to tell you about their experiences using
this page. Many of these sites have already been explored and used in
our media classes. You will also find access to the Houghton Mifflin
Math site used in grades K-4. Click on the “Catalog” tab to browse our
library collection. Again, your student can probably help you! ENJOY!
